THE FERRA INDICA STORY

Where craft carries a story, and tradition finds a place in modern life.

Ferra Indica was born from a love for the things made slowly, thoughtfully and by hand—and a desire to ensure that India’s extraordinary craft heritage doesn’t get lost in the rush of changing times.

Our roots lie in the rich craft traditions of West Bengal and Northeast India, where generations of artisans have transformed natural materials, age-old techniques and cultural stories into objects of remarkable beauty.

We bring these crafts into contemporary homes through thoughtfully curated décor, accessories and lifestyle pieces—celebrating their heritage while giving them a modern expression.

But for us, it has never been just about the product. It is about the hands behind it, the knowledge passed down through generations, and creating a reason for the next generation to carry it forward.

Because when handmade finds a place in our everyday lives, craft survives, artisans thrive, and heritage lives on.

From our hands to your home—in harmony with nature.

Meet Sudeshna Mitra

After 13 years across banking and media with HSBC, Kotak and BigFM, Sudeshna Mitra walked away from a successful corporate career to pursue something more meaningful.

Her turning point came while working with tribal women artisans in rural West Bengal. Their extraordinary craftsmanship—and the lack of recognition and sustainable markets for it—inspired her to create Ferra Indica.

Today, she brings together India’s traditional crafts, contemporary design and sustainable living, curating handcrafted home décor, accessories and gifts that make heritage accessible to modern homes.

“Connecting the hands that create with the homes that celebrate them.”
